NIAS can be reached by taxi from major railway stations. Taxis charge a kilometer rate of €2 per km and add an extra €0.32 per minute. A taxi from Leiden Central Station costs about €30, and from Schiphol Airport to NIAS costs about €120.
By Public Transport
From The Hague Central Station
There is an hourly bus service from The Hague central station to Nieuw Vennep, route 90. Get off at the bus stop Van Bronckhorstlaan in Wassenaar.
From Leiden Central Station
From Leiden central station take the bus, route 43, in the direction of The Hague, which leaves every half hour. Get off at the bus stop Van Oldenbarneveltweg in Wassenaar and cross the road. Catch the hourly bus, route number 90 in the direction of Nieuw Vennep and get off at the bus stop Van Bronckhorstlaan, Wassenaar.

By car
From The Hague
Follow the N44 in the direction of Amsterdam until you get to Wassenaar. Turn left at the traffic lights towards Wassenaar/Duinrell and follow the signs to Duinrell until you see a Tango Petrol Station on your right. Go straight on at the traffic lights and follow the signs to the Wassenaarse Slag (2nd exit from the roundabout). NIAS is signposted, take the second turn right (see small white signs).
From Amsterdam
Follow the A44 towards The Hague. Take exit number 8 (Leiden) right onto the N206 in the direction of Valkenburg/Katwijk. Follow the N206 in the direction of Katwijk. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the N441 towards Wassenaar/Duinrell. Follow the road until you see the Wassenaarse Slag signposted (1st exit from the roundabout). NIAS is signposted, take the second turn right (see small white signs).
From Leiden
Follow the N206 in the direction of Katwijk. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the N441 towards Wassenaar/Duinrell. Follow the road until you see the Wassenaarse Slag signposted (1st exit from the roundabout). NIAS is signposted, take the second turn right (see small white signs).
By bike
Bikes can be rented at most railway stations. The trip by bike from both Leiden and The Hague central station takes about 45 minutes and from Voorschoten station about 25 minutes.
