L. Huyse (Luc) retired Professor K.U. Leuven
Luc Huyse did his doctorate in political and social sciences. He was, until his retirement in 2000, Professor of Sociology and Sociology of Law at the Leuven University Law School (Belgium).
He has written and taught extensively in Dutch, English and French on the various dimensions of justice after transition (post WWII in Europe, post-communist transitions in East and Central Europe, Africa). He has been a consultant to governments and NGO's in Burundi, Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. He is co-editor of Reconciliation After Violent Conflict. A Handbook (2003) and of Traditional Justice and Reconciliation after Violent Conflict. Learning from African Experiences (2008).
